School Council

🌟 Our School Council
At Stubbins Primary School, we are proud to have an active and enthusiastic School Council that plays a vital role in school life.
Our School Council gives all pupils a voice. Through regular meetings, representatives from each class share ideas, raise concerns, and help shape decisions that affect our school. From fundraising events to making suggestions about playground equipment or improving classroom spaces, the council ensures that pupil opinions are heard and acted upon.
The council is made up of elected members from each class. Every September, children put themselves forward and take part in a class vote to choose their representatives. This democratic process helps our pupils understand responsibility, leadership, and how their voices can make a real difference.
Meetings are held regularly and are supported by Miss Barrington, who leads the School Council. Together, the children work on a wide range of initiatives that contribute positively to our school environment.

✨ Highlights from this Year
So far this year, our School Council has:
- Organised the Harvest donations, which are to be donated to Ramsbottom Pantry.
🔧 Currently Working On
-
Improving wet playtimes and our environment areas: Following pupil feedback, the council is organising the purchase of equipment for indoor breaktimes and sourcing resources to make our school areas more inviting and comfortable.
-
Raising awareness of road safety: The School Council is launching a poster competition in partnership with Lancashire County Council during Road Safety week this November. The winning designs will be made into a bespoke banner to promote a road safety message outside school.
We are incredibly proud of our School Council and the thoughtful, proactive way they help shape our school. Their commitment to listening, leading, and making a difference truly represents our school values in action.
