At Stubbins Primary School, we are committed to promoting equality and ensuring that every child and member of our school community is treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.

In line with the Equality Act 2010, we uphold three key principles:

We actively work to remove barriers that may disadvantage individuals, ensuring that all pupils—regardless of background, ability, or personal characteristics—have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

Our inclusive curriculum and school environment celebrate diversity, challenge stereotypes, and promote mutual understanding and respect. By embedding these principles into all aspects of school life, we create a positive and supportive atmosphere where every child can flourish.

Context and Rationale

Based on the school's context and stated aim to ensure inclusion and celebration of uniqueness, the following objectives have been developed to address the Public Sector Equality Duty for 2025-2026

Enhance Cultural Understanding and Reduce Prejudice

• Advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations across different characteristics

Continue to develop Inclusive Curriculum

• Improve pupils' understanding of differences between people in society

• Eliminate potential discrimination through enhanced education about diversity

Support Vulnerable Pupils' Participation and Achievement

• Ensure pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with SEND can fully access and engage with the curriculum

• Advance equality of opportunity for all pupils

We will be talking about these objectives with the children in the following way:
