At Stubbins Primary School, we want children to enjoy the opportunities technology offers while learning how to stay safe, make sensible choices and treat others with kindness and respect.

Keeping children safe online is a partnership between school and home. This section provides practical advice, useful resources and information about where to get help if something goes wrong.

Worried about something online?

If you are concerned about your child’s safety online, please contact the school office on 01706 822063 and ask to speak to our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mrs Cromey, or one of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, Mrs Doskocz or Mrs Black.

Listen calmly and reassure your child that telling you was the right thing to do. You do not need to have all the answers before asking for help.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not wait for a response from school.

Small steps to support your child at home

• Talk regularly about the games, apps and videos your child enjoys.
• Spend time exploring their favourite games and apps together.
• Check age guidance, privacy settings and who can contact your child.
• Use parental controls alongside regular conversations and supervision.
• Agree family routines for using devices, including bedtime.
• Remind your child to tell a trusted adult if anything makes them feel worried, uncomfortable or unsure.
