About Our Class

Welcome to Year 2! This term we are excited to explore a wide range of subjects and learning experiences.

We aim to create a warm, friendly, and supportive classroom where every child feels happy, safe, and confident to learn and achieve their very best. Our classroom is a place where children are encouraged to be kind, respectful, and curious about the world around them.

In Year 2, we value teamwork, independence, and resilience. We support children to try their best, learn from their mistakes, and celebrate their successes, both big and small. We encourage a growth mindset, helping children to understand that with effort and perseverance, they can achieve great things.

We enjoy working together as a class community, sharing ideas, listening to each other, and helping one another to learn. Every child has an important role to play in making our classroom a positive and happy place.

Throughout the year, we will build on important skills in reading, writing, and maths, while also developing creativity, curiosity, and confidence across all subjects.

Fun This Term

  • This half-term we are joined by Mrs Foster, a trainee teacher. We are really looking forward to supporting Mrs Foster on her journey to becoming a teacher.

Alongside this, we have lots of exciting learning experiences planned. We will be taking part in practical, hands-on activities across the curriculum, working both independently and in groups to build our teamwork and communication skills.

We are especially looking forward to creative projects in Art and Design Technology, where we will be exploring new materials and techniques. In Science, we will be carrying out simple investigations and experiments to help us learn more about the world around us.

We will also enjoy outdoor learning opportunities, giving us the chance to learn outside the classroom whenever possible. Throughout the term, we will celebrate our achievements and continue to build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
