Wider Community Support
There are a wide range of support services who work in our school.
Lancashire Music Service
Specialist Teachers provide music lessons as follows;
- Woodwind
- Brass
- Keyboard / Voice
- Drums
- Guitar
The school has an excellent band led by Ms Faulkner.
Wider opportunities in Music
As part of the Wider Opportunities Scheme, all the Year 4 children are experiencing instrumental music within the classroom and covering part of the National Curriculum for music with an experienced teacher, Mr K Lyster. There are three instruments available to play, the cornet, the trumpet, the baritone and the trombone. At the end of the tuition period, the children will get the chance to show off their new talent to their parents during a school assembly.
Pupil Support
A range of professionals work with us to ensure that the needs of all pupils are met. Lancashire provides a range of SEN support services including Educational Psychology and specialist teachers dealing with particular needs. The school buys into these services as required.
In addition to this, we enjoy the support of an 'in-house' learning mentor (Mrs J Wilson) who is able to offer guidance and support where required.
Parent Helpers
We do encourage parents to help in school, however it may not be possible to work in the class where your child is based. All parent helpers are asked to undergo an enhanced DBS criminal records check.
